I just can’t believe we’re seeing this sort of stuff from a sitting MP Just want to say to British Somalis that you are loved and I’m so, sorry this is happening.
Once again, I come back to the fact these guys have created a situation where one of the UK's leading, cis female athletes is scared to go to the loo alone, and the fact that they are celebrating this as a step forward for women's rights.
Our code of practice for services, public functions and associations comes into force today. It provides practical guidance on how the Equality Act 2010 applies to services, public functions and associations. Find out more: https://ow.ly/alIf50Zwrkx

Liddle to be celebrated
An honest obituary for Rod Liddle, dead at 66, dead inside for many years before that.

What is being praised is "the maximum possible offence to all the right people".
The Times, one of the leading voices when it comes to 'protecting women and girls' calling a man who assaulted his young pregnant girlfriend, said he would rape the kids if he was a teacher and called for child sex abuse porn to be legal, 'brilliant'
This is what I mean when I talk about the Fantasy of the Optional Pandemic, where the virus was erased from the equation and mitigation measures were always portrayed as an avoidable choice. Headlines about what actually happened are never even acknowledged.
There are working class and vulnerable kids who will never have the life they should have had because of school closures. Let’s address that too, shall we?
This area used to re-elect the head of the 1922 committee to be their MP.
I regret to inform you that we have reached the “Broadmoor is a holiday camp” stage of right-wing discourse.
The anti-trans group LGB Alliance posted this to Twitter, and I find it genuinely funny. Once you read the methodology section on their survey, it's clear that this survey only tells you that people who already support this group... agree with the group.
Back into the Cabinet after two years in a silent monastery in Tibet.
Lisa Nandy heading into Downing Street, presumably for a promotion
This might sound like I only care about trans people but the fact is how Burnham opts to treat trans people will tell you exactly how he will treat everybody else eventually. You can poo-poo that if you want, but you're wrong.
My support (as much as it matters) depends on the ending of trans segregation in the UK. That's the litmus test. If he's willing to stand up to the anti-trans activists, this country might have a chance. If he isn't, it's just more of the same and he'll buckle on everything, inc rough sleeping.
good to see at least one cabinet minister announcing their departure on the non-nazi social media app
It has been the privilege of my life to serve my country as Attorney General over the last two years. I’ve been so lucky to be a part of Keir’s team, as he delivered for the public at home while rebuilding the UK’s reputation abroad, in particular on the rule of law.
That match went on for so long that some people completed their gender transitions on the NHS during it

Promo for the Silence of the Lambs TV show that we never got to see
If you’re wondering why UK press has suddenly woken up to Farage, please read this. It’s because: Brexit. The r/w press refused to scrutinise the money behind Farage & the lawsuit against me scared off the rest. But this isn’t a new scandal. It’s the same one I’ve been reporting on for a decade
NEW: Who funds Nigel Farage? And why has it taken till now for any journalistic scrutiny? @carolecadwalla.bsky.social who has tracked him for a decade exposes how the UK press & regulators looked the other way 🧵👇
Years of replying to JKR with stats, info, debunking, none of that made her block me. She blocked me because I asked why as someone who is “fighting for girls and women” she’s been silent about the girls and women suffering in Palestine. She knows she’s a liar.
The Times has become of the most viciously, relentlessly transphobic publications in the country, and the competition is stiff. It's like the Daily Rowling.
The Times, first with the news, has discovered a report from May, though they leave out how it showed the Times itself is leading in its war on trans people.
Just had meeting with kiddo's school. She has been fully supported, treated with full equality & dignity for years. All of that changes from September. Full segregation & humiliation across the board. The school staff cried in the meeting. This will absolutely lead to children's deaths 1/2
I’m sorry, but what is ‘radical’ about the policies pursued by Miliband?
It is mad that we have, somehow, allowed net zero - a policy common to all major parties under 5 years ago and supported by a majority of the public - to become a synoym for mad radicalism. It is doubly mad that we've allowed this to happen during the hottest summer on record.

The great thing about Britain is you're free to think whatever you want to think and say whatever J. K. Rowling's lawyers permit you to say.
Trans people deserve dignity and respect. I've written to the Women and Equalities Minister, urging her to listen to calls from myself & other MPs to disapprove the draft EHRC Code. Read my letter below 👇
Campaigning in Greater Manchester today and just running through some life lessons...
It's always lovely to see people supporting the LGBT+ community. Someone needs to tell London Labour Assembly Members who all abstained this week on a motion standing up for trans rights and challenging the EHRC. Why abstain on people's human rights and then "celebrate" Pride?
Hi Bylines, can you explain why you have commissioned this person to write an article about Pride for you? Here they are repeatedly misgendering a murdered trans child.
My god, they aren't targeting trans people just to get at other people. They are targeting trans people to target trans people. And they are targeting other people. We don't just exist as a warning for the rest of you, fuck me.
Civil servants can't attend pride, nurses can't wear a Palestine badge, but Hillary Cass can speak at Jordan Peterson's conference 👍
Whilst this is a draft, the government has been advised by many experts leading up to this. I’ve been part of this myself, and choosing to keep loopholes that create room for abuse under the guise of healthcare is the antithesis of what medicine should be Every doctor should be loudly opposing this
I've spent years working towards a ban on conversion practices, hoping to see a bill published. Today, I just feel so profoundly sad. As many others have noted, the draft has a carve out for "healthcare" so broad it makes a mockery of the idea this is a 'ban'. 1/2 www.gov.uk/government/p...
Usually when the government seeks to prohibit or ban something they treat it like a spell. That’s why they often don’t work. But sometimes the government will self-sabotage a ban by having exceptions so wide so as to render the ban ineffective. Like fox hunting, and now like this.
