This is what I mean when I talk about the Fantasy of the Optional Pandemic, where the virus was erased from the equation and mitigation measures were always portrayed as an avoidable choice. Headlines about what actually happened are never even acknowledged.

There are working class and vulnerable kids who will never have the life they should have had because of school closures. Let’s address that too, shall we?

The anti-trans group LGB Alliance posted this to Twitter, and I find it genuinely funny. Once you read the methodology section on their survey, it's clear that this survey only tells you that people who already support this group... agree with the group.

LGB Alliance "We surveyed lesbian, gay and bisexual people. 94% felt uncomfortable being categorized under the LGBTQ+ umbrella. 87% felt uncomfortable being categorised as "queer.""SURVEY METHODS
Sample: On 4th May 2023, a link to a Google Form survey was emailed to 7,021
LGB Alliance supporters. These were individuals who subscribed to the LGB Alliance
newsletter, had attended one or more LGB Alliance events or who had made
donations to the charity.
2,133 responses were received. This response rate of 30% is reasonable for a survey
of this type.
Questionnaire and screening: The landing page explained the survey was for
lesbian, gay and bisexual supporters of LGB Alliance. The aims were described as,
‘to help us understand the attitudes that LGB Alliance supporters have around common
terms used to categorise LGB people. The findings of this survey will help us advocate
more effectively for the needs of LGB people.’ It was explained that the survey would
be kept confidential in accordance with GDPR, and that their personal information
is protected by law. A contact email was provided for those who wanted more
information.
The first two questions were screening questions. Non-supporters were screened
out at Q1: ‘This survey is for LGB supporters of LGB Alliance. Before we start the survey,
can you confirm you are a supporter of LGB Alliance?’ Those who indicated they were
not a supporter, didn’t know, or preferred not to say were screened out. A scan of
responses to the open-ended questions suggested there were a tiny number of
individuals who appeared to be detractors rather than supporters of LGB Alliance
who continued with the survey. All those who answered ‘yes’ at Q1 were included
in the analysis as they would not have altered the results due to their very small
numbers.
Q2 screened out those who were supporters of LGB Alliance but who we

If you’re wondering why UK press has suddenly woken up to Farage, please read this. It’s because: Brexit. The r/w press refused to scrutinise the money behind Farage & the lawsuit against me scared off the rest. But this isn’t a new scandal. It’s the same one I’ve been reporting on for a decade

NEW: Who funds Nigel Farage? And why has it taken till now for any journalistic scrutiny? @carolecadwalla.bsky.social who has tracked him for a decade exposes how the UK press & regulators looked the other way 🧵👇

Farage the money launderer and me: a decade of denial

Years of replying to JKR with stats, info, debunking, none of that made her block me. She blocked me because I asked why as someone who is “fighting for girls and women” she’s been silent about the girls and women suffering in Palestine. She knows she’s a liar.

Just had meeting with kiddo's school. She has been fully supported, treated with full equality & dignity for years. All of that changes from September. Full segregation & humiliation across the board. The school staff cried in the meeting. This will absolutely lead to children's deaths 1/2

It's always lovely to see people supporting the LGBT+ community. Someone needs to tell London Labour Assembly Members who all abstained this week on a motion standing up for trans rights and challenging the EHRC. Why abstain on people's human rights and then "celebrate" Pride?

My god, they aren't targeting trans people just to get at other people. They are targeting trans people to target trans people. And they are targeting other people. We don't just exist as a warning for the rest of you, fuck me.

Whilst this is a draft, the government has been advised by many experts leading up to this. I’ve been part of this myself, and choosing to keep loopholes that create room for abuse under the guise of healthcare is the antithesis of what medicine should be Every doctor should be loudly opposing this

I've spent years working towards a ban on conversion practices, hoping to see a bill published. Today, I just feel so profoundly sad. As many others have noted, the draft has a carve out for "healthcare" so broad it makes a mockery of the idea this is a 'ban'. 1/2 www.gov.uk/government/p...

Usually when the government seeks to prohibit or ban something they treat it like a spell. That’s why they often don’t work. But sometimes the government will self-sabotage a ban by having exceptions so wide so as to render the ban ineffective. Like fox hunting, and now like this.
