Somebody asked me on Reddit why people who use AI to generate Recomp projects are currently being rejected from the communities and what they can do to fix this. I might tweak parts of this to be a more general blog post at some point, but this should be of help to anyone in a similar situation.

I really really really like NixOS. Such a cool distro. I was looking for something similar for ages as I often use a lot of machines for my work and keeping them manually "in sync" regarding packages, settings, and overall setup was always a nightmare. 1/3
Generative AI is not only fundamentally based on the rejection of consent, but also *standards*. Artists have been micromanaged and hounded over individual pixels, academics fighting to defend every minute detail of their thesis, etc, and then are tossed away in favor of the get shit wrong machine.
Just a hint how f-up job market really is. It took a year and 2725 applications. 2725 Jobs > 26 1st int. > 12 2nd int. > 6 3rd int. > 1 offer. I am a person with 10+ years of experience in across design, IT dev. and management. I worked for the biggest players. I have ONLY positive references.
Is Steam Machine expensive? Yes. Is it overpriced? No. Can you built a better PC by yourself? Depends. If you want new parts then the answer is no. If you can find some good deals on used HW then yes.
using AI at any stage of game development is loser shit but the excuse of "oh we only used it during the concept art stage" is always insane to me. concept art is literally the fun part. you asked the robot to do the fun part for you. do you also need the robot to eat dessert for you
Such a beautifuly crafted app this is (droid). It crashes every time I save an image. Vevy nice.
Could there be a better example of "the trans debate" than 98% of women supporting trans people and then one single lone person voting against them and getting their way regardless. It's all such a fucking sham
"Forty-nine votes were cast against the new rules, whilst only one vote was cast in their favour", yet still they went ahead with the ban. Clearly, women's opinions do not count!
“The Al is not just telling you what you want to hear. It is training you, one conversation at a time, to need less friction, expect more agreement, and become slightly less capable of handling a situation where someone pushes back on you”
A PhD student at Stanford noticed her classmates were asking Al to write their breakup texts. So she ran a study. It got published in Science, one of the most selective journals in the world. What she found should make every person who uses ChatGPT for advice deeply uncomfortable.
Sony just made the best flagship phone that no one is talking about (again).
Yesterday I was buying some frozen french fries. I was not able to find them for like 5 minutes. Why? Instead of a package with a picture of fries on them there was a picture of AI generated Ghibli family with a piss filter on the entire package with no mention of what is actually inside the bag.
uh Tubi is giving me ads made with AI now I just got a Trivago one im positive was ai generated
It’s finally happened. After 18 months. Finally, a media merger you can root for.

Linux DEs and me do far: Gnome: Love the looks, hate lacking feature set and customisation KDE: Love the feature set and customisation, hate default looks and stability Hyprland and Niri: Cool but totally unfit for my workflow, unstable AF Cinnamon: Looks awful, love the stability The rest: No.
I am surprised. I tried @kdenlive.bsky.social as a hardcore Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve user. KdenLive is amazing. I found it to be super feature rich and even better than Premiere Pro. Still missing many DaVinci things but that is kinda expected. The only downside is super slow GPU export.
One thing I love about Linux is how calm the experience is. You don’t have to constantly fight your OS, you are not bombarded by notifications, updates, sales BS, nor forced to get rid of software you never asked for. You just turn on your computer and you do stuff you want to do. It’s that easy.
