In October last year I was fired by Rockstar Games in what we believe was a union busting move. We lost our home. We lost 2 jobs with my partner being forced to resign. We lost a community. Most importantly however we had to leave our two dogs behind, one of which will never return.

Sin that must be eternally punished is a culturally Christian idea that you can and should reject. If someone admits wrongdoing and changes their behavior, that's the desired outcome. You don't continue to punish because you then signal there's no point to contrition at all, you're damned either way
More developer friends are starting to get these emails. Google is trying to buy codebases to train AI to replace us. The email itself only mentions "tools" - until you click the links and see AI mentioned casually here and there. Very sneaky and predatory in a time when folks are low on cash.
