Brittany Ellich@brittanyellich.com · 2d agoThis. I don't think anyone is really anti-AI. They're anti-the-companies-pushing-AI. LLMs have some really incredible use cases. They can be assistive technologies, help with mental load, and allow you to focus more on the present than an endless stream of tasks or your phone.
Crappy morning. I find LLMs really beneficial in certain areas of my life, but a lot of people think AI use of any kind is the devil. While this is irritating, what frustrates me more is knowing the real problem is the companies trying to shove this crap up every orifice of our lives. I'm so tired.
Nobody wants predictive data models to stop working for the people in medicine. Or translating ancient Pompeii texts. Or the other ways we were already using it. We want it to stop replacing workers, killing the environment, and stealing from artists. Hope that clarifies.
So happy I bailed from GM when I did. Fantastic teams & coworkers. Horrendous & incompetent leadership.

This is the surefire number one way to tell you're dealing with someone who fucking sucks. Across all fields and the political spectrum. Always criticizing never admitting mistakes. Going through life never letting themselves be the butt of the joke, not even for silly things.

Open social platforms are touching the interests of big players. These attacks should be a call to action to double down efforts to make them more resilient and reach more people. And to be patient and appreciate the work so many great folks are pouring into recovering our sovereignty on the web.

The coffee giant has launched an app within the OpenAI chatbot that is supposed to "provide inspiration for customers’ drink orders." Consumers will still need to complete their orders on the Starbucks app or website.
Coworker just got let go 😖 Can't wait for things to get "better", cause this job market, these empty AI promises, these daily living expenses, everything, all of it just fucking sucks right now.
