People think "Hollywood" is rich and famous. The reality? Film and TV is a national industry. It's a blue collar industry. And it is an industry free fall. My latest for @newrepublic.com on how the Paramount merger would crush blue collar workers who can not afford it newrepublic.com/article/2136...

There’s a Blue-Collar Hollywood—and the Paramount Merger Will Kill It

Hollywood isn’t all glamour. It’s thousands of line workers. And a Paramount takeover of Warner will make their lives even more precarious.

I was told you couldn't do 3D on the Playdate, so I did it. Then I was told there was no way I could create exterior levels like those in Mirror's Edge, so I proved them wrong again.

Marty O'Donnell sucks so much thankfully he took his whole thing from Kate Bush so if you want more of that kind of composition just dive into her discography

I keep seeing arguments for games being expensive due to hyper realistic expectations for art, or simply lots of art. What I don’t see is the actual most costly reason: Indecision Iteration is good, but the yearly rebuilding of entire characters, storylines, and levels, is the most expensive thing

Many factors at play here - not the least of which is higher-ups (in their infinite wisdom) not being able to commit to anything, or knowing good from bad All the while the economy at large expects the profit line go infinitely up, absolutely ignoring its undeniable tendency to do the opposite

My favorite part of nolan's batman trilogy is scarecrow riding into a burning gotham on a horse, giving a villain speech and then he gets shot in the neck with a taser and just gives up and rides off screaming and his last words were "im here to help"

It also doesn't matter if you work on a game that's critically panned or only sells okay. I assure you, there's someone for whom that is their *favorite* game. An example: I worked on Iron Man 2, the game. It's okay. It was made under deathmarch crunch conditions and the team was harmed.

Of all the social media behaviors I find infuriating nothing boils my piss like someone seeing a bad post on twitter/threads, taking a screenshot, and posting it here. Utterly baffling. Not only do you go on the bad website but you have to share it to us here? who have no interest? Are you stupid?
