Like, the fundamental thing with "AI" - it all starts with a massive and ongoing act of theft (or infringement, if you like). It's a few billionaire, or trillionaire, owned tech companies stealing everything we ever did then selling it back as a worse version of the work we all do.

by only addressing the quality of output, you participate in techbros' disingenuous framing of these technologies as "just a (flawed) tool", while ignoring the numerous ethical and legal issues that make them rotten to the very core. you're better than that.

There is also a great example in the form of Bevy and their AI policy: bevy.org/learn/contri... They reject any and all that is not just indistinguishable from auto-completion; guide their reviewers to spot this crap even if undisclosed; will put you in front of a firing squad if you repeat.

AI Policy

In recent times, there have been a growing number of contributions that are fully or partially produced by generative AI (e.g. large language models a…

I have a 4.7 precompiled version ready to go and the GDExtension version works on 4.4.1 and up; currently finishing up docs updates for those. I am adding a 4.5.2 pre-compiled version for people who want that. As for LLMs, they are completely banned from GodotSteam's repos and codebase.

there's a moment early in the film of Ready Player One, where the voiceover says, "the only limit was your imagination", as the screen fills with pre-existing characters & IPs. It would one of the most on the nose satires of modern culture if not for the fact that it's meant entirely without irony

A day late on announcements but for #Godot 4.6.3, we're rolling out #GodotSteam 4.19 and Server 4.9.2! You can snag a copy in all the usual places (including this post). Mostly fixes for Voice functionality but also some breakage for Steam Input enums so if you use those check out the changes.
