Thrilled to share our collab led by Grace Hibshman with the Shipman lab! Type IX retron-Kva2 structure reveals phage detection via an HTH fold, not a primary sequence. We computationally designed triggers that program bacteria cell death, pointing toward designer antimicrobials.

In www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6... Yean Ming Chew & I show that mutating the interPF interface in human MTs can allow them to assemble in GDP. We propose that tubulin molecules are captured indiscriminately at MT tips but then retained only if they can bind stably to a lateral nearest-neighbour.

#ServiceNotification SiR-DNA completely blocks Anaphase of hTERT-RPE1 cells during time lapse recordings (every 3min) for mitotic progression analyses at concentrations >/= 5nM (@1h preincubation). No DNA staining with 1nM. Visible staining AND progression beyond Anaphase with 3nM SiR-DNA only.
