There are two choices in November: 1. Democracy 2. Dictatorship Those who don’t vote are supporting #2. Internal fighting helps choice #2. If we don’t flip the house at a minimum, it won’t matter why - there won’t be a country and everything bad will get worse!

Presumably the proper English translation of whatever word an alien race used for its home planet would just be "Earth"
This reminds me of "Allah" just being the arabic word for "God" and not, as an incredible number of people seem to think, a specific "different" god like Thor or something

Democrats refer Wright to DOJ for prosecution, accusing him of lying to Congress #TheHill https://twp.ai/9OZe1J
Notice DOJ doesn't talk about its efforts to obtain state voter files anymore. They are 0-20 in those cases and today is the beginning of the quiet period -- states can no longer do systematic removals of names from the voter rolls. TLDR: We won!🥳
@paulaerizanu.bsky.social @cristiancantir.bsky.social I don’t know if you can shed any light on what is going on by our Kremlin-aligned government here?
NEW: An ICE flight headed for Moldova turned around over the Atlantic Ocean yesterday and flew back to an ICE hub, returning 15 hours after it left. We don’t know why. Video I obtained from the scene shows 11 exhausted and shackled people disembark. gillianbrockell.com/why-did-this...
Best of all possibles, and they both started before results were in.
And I think it's notable that the actual candidates recognize this, know that the factions have far more in common than separates them, and are quickly moving to mend fences and look toward winning in November.

This is worth amplifying (also this podcast is rad), that Roman slavery was, y'know, slavery. In fact, all slavery is horrifying, but the broader 'Mediterranean' slavery tradition (which is also, by the by, the ancestor of Atlantic slavery) is one of the *more extreme* such traditions.
Next time someone tries to tell you that Roman slavery was different or better than other forms of slavery, tell them to listen to last week’s episode of @thisguysucked.com and/or buy Emma’s book.

"Less than two cents on every dollar. That was US tech giant Palantir’s effective global corporation tax rate in 2025, according to a new study."
Palantir earns billions from government contracts around the world, including across Europe. Yet European trade unions say the US tech giant pays next to nothing in tax. How does a company profiting from so much public money contribute so little in return?

@factforce.bsky.social , you asked recently what prompted the Georgia Dream regime to (apparently) abandon refining Russian oil. This 👇 may give you a more complete answer to your question.
Georgian Dream: "WE ARE NOT REFINING RUSSIAN OIL!" *Prosecutes democratic leaders who speak of Russia sanctions evasion for up to 15 years* *Gets sanctioned* "Please, please, dear EU, we will get rid of the Russian oil!"

Easy. Put up the charts. Hammer the points home over and over and over again. This is a familiar pattern. Time to start saying so. Every day.
I fundamentally do not know how to square the politics whereby Democrats will essentially have to tell the American people that because they (the voters) made an extremely stupid decision, they need to lower their expectations substantially for the foreseeable future, but here we are.
I think there is a clear messaging path through this, actually. Americans just like to be the underdog so goddamn much.
