First console: Mattel Intellivision First game: Armor Battle, though I didn't really enjoy it. I connected more with Advanced Dungeons & Dragons on the same system. It was kind of an ur-Zelda, with an overworld map, dungeons, and tools you had to find to clear obstacles. It was cool!

Love Actually is one of the most overrated movies of my lifetime and actively terrible in places but emma thompson saying "nobody's ever going to shag you if you go around feeling sorry for yourself all the time" might be the most important PSA in any film this century

i've been playing redfall lately, and yes, it is not a usual arkane imsim, more like an open-world looter shooter with elements of imsim. however, it is still an arkane game, so the level design is ace, and oh boy, the vibes are immaculate. i'm having a blast!

Blue Bottle Games, as a policy, does not use generative AI. It's something we've discussed as a team, weighing the pros and cons, and ultimately, we decided it was not for us. Recently, while chatting with a colleague, she mentioned it was useful hearing our reasoning. So: Sharing time! 1/12

Practical/Quality Reasons - AI output is not guaranteed to be accurate or to work. - Verifying AI output requires human review time. - Verifying AI output requires expertise equal to or greater than that required to generate the output manually. 5/12

This was a fascinating exercise: find out what went wrong with creativity in the games industry. The conclusion: there are too many cowards controlling too many critical levers, and until we figure out how to put people -taste, creativity, and craft- back at the top, we're going to be stuck.

The games industry is stifled by a culture of fear, concludes a workgroup hosted by Rami Ismail. https://bit.ly/4vPbIzv

found this in my 18yo’s schoolbook from six years ago and it’s going STRAIGHT to the specials box “I enjoyed the womb, as told by my mum, kudos to her.” kudos to her is so funny

Autobiography
Everyone is starting with their birth so im going to do just that, I enjoyed the womb, as told by my mum, kudos to her. So I was a very chill unborn fetus. But all good things must come to an end, which I couldnt handle well because apparently i was pulled out by something that resembles salad tongs. I was born on May 7th, 2008.

Fast forward 2 or 1 years to what i call the mango period, when i was a maniac for mangoes. And when i say a maniac, i mean mango all over my face and crazy baby laughs that my mum recorded.

crazy how deep-rooted racism in western society is when cyclops, giants, witches, and gods are more believable than black helen of troy. however, i saw the movie. it was fun. i'm always happy to see john leguizamo in anything.

Shout out to the artist at IO who clearly had fun with the lighting here in this otherwise unremarkable corridor that you're in for about three seconds.

Just going to say here, I think I've said this before, a 'historically accurate' version of the Odyssey is not possible because the Odyssey does not take place in a historical setting - it takes place in a fantastical pastiche of four centuries, mixed in with gods and monsters.

JUST IN: Elon Musk says Grok will make a "full-length movie" of The Odyssey that is "historically accurate" by the end of this year.
