The vandalism and desecration of the White House isn't just vanity and it's not trivial. It's caesarism, as in literally what Julius Caesar did to the symbolic architecture of civic republicanism. Our national iconography matters and allowing the disfiguring of it to persist is a substantive harm.

“A single-payer universal health care system could cover every American, save more than 100,000 lives a year, and still cost $1 trillion less than the system it would replace, according to a new preprint study led by researchers at the Yale School of Public Health.” ysph.yale.edu/news-article...

The White House normally gets $2.5 million a year for maintenance. Trump’s team has allocated $875 million.   That’s 350 years’ worth of the usual budget spent by a single administration.

Meet one of the world’s smallest reptiles: the Nosy Hara leaf chameleon. Scientifically described in 2012, adults grow to be about 1 in (2.5 cm) long & juveniles can fit on the head of a match. Photo: Frank Glaw, Jörn Köhler, Ted M. Townsend, Miguel Vences. PLoS ONE, CC BY 2.5, Wikimedia Commons

A photo of a Nosy Hara leaf chameleon on the head of a match. The reptile is brownish in color and diminutive in size.

So embarrassing when people think the point of reading a novel is to know the plot, so a summary is just as good. The plot isn’t important, you rube. You absolute simpleton. The point of reading a novel is to find out what the characters are eating and start thinking about what you want for dinner.

Bluesky is a "liberal bubble" because fascist chuds can't get traction without algorithmic assistance and because people here trained themselves to block "debate me" trybois the instant they roll up

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

Its a lib "bubble" because MAGA can't stick dick opinions in my face without a block. People like bluesky because unlike Twitter you can curate/filter out stupid bullshit. The only reason conservatives hate it is because they cant force you to pay attention to them. That better not fucking change.

Yes, absolutely. But please, can we STOP CALLING THEM DATA CENTERS ? They are not filled with data. They are filled with machines. Servers. These are server farms. Energy eating, resource guzzling, ratepayer robbing, environment polluting server farms. Help family farms; not server farms.

Build child care centers. Build health centers. Build community centers. Not data centers. And not ICE detention centers.

Holiday in the climate emergency. No that’s not AI or edited, just a snapshot I just took with my phone on Lacanau beach in France. What future will this boy grow up in? It is in our hands, but time is running out.
