In fact, my liberal arts education prepared me to use my mind in jobs that hadn’t been invented yet when I was in school. That’s the whole point - to teach you how to think, communicate, and reason. Skills that are always needed.
Recasting higher education as vocational training is some bullshit. The fact there aren't more jobs specifically calling for people who have studied humanities, social science, critical theory, etc, doesn't mean that there isn't work that benefits from those studies, esp. the work of being human.
