My four year old loves the Museum of the American Revolution but calls it the Imaginary Revolution Museum, and there is a metaphor in there somewhere.
My sister-in-law is visiting Utah for the first time and providing live reactions to the sibling chat while the rest of us, who grew up in Utah, make comments like ‘I’m not sure what you were expecting out of the words “salt flats.”’
Everything else aside, how do these people not immediately turn into a pillar of salt after using the term ‘heritage Americans’? Extraordinarily embarrassing. You’re making yourself sound like a late-summer tomato.

I worry that most cynical among us, hopped up on 30 years of law and order rhetoric, will say "this is the system working: he didn't do anything wrong and now he's free." As if the terror and wide-scale publicity of an arrest and federal prosecution is not a horrible punishment in and of itself.
