I cannot emphasize how much of a non-issue this is. I use the women's. Doctors ask when my last period was. Airport security looks back up at me when I hand them my passport. I have navigated life smoothly as a woman for years, and I am only endangered by the ideological fixations on denying that.

It's clear that many cis people aren't aware how truly fucking awful the New York Times has been towards trans people and that it is not just a bit transphobic like so many others but a leading voice that has been cited in legal cases taking away the rights of trans people.
