I may have let my class out early this evening. We are ahead on the material and also there was less than a third of the students present. And then one left half way through lecture. Like, I get sometimes students just don't show, but most the class like this is a little strange.
If the conversation is "What should we have for dinner?" and one person says, "Pizza", another person says "Tacos", and a third says "Break our teeth on rocks", you can just stop considering that third person. You don't have to debate the merits, you can ignore them and decide pizza or tacos.
The narrative that if you don't let rabid, illiterate Nazis into your conversation than you're "in an echo chamber" is one of the many tricks fascists try to pull on people who want to feel inclusive and enlightened. Simple truth: not every viewpoint is valid, and some are especially invalid.
Being an ally can be hard sometimes. You get yelled at by a LOT of shitheads just for speaking up. But not giving money to hateful people/organizations actively making the lives of those you claim to care most about worse? That's the easiest fucking part of allyship. If you can't give up that...🤷

It would seem my apartment complex is looking to change the terms of my (and everybody's) lease when it comes to trash and water costs. Aka, those things that had been included in the base rent. So another big rent hike if I renew plus fees on top of that. Like, wtf?
Still thinking of the lovely and frightening vision I had in a dream the other night. A massive city waterfront in a place of perpetual night. The city lights plentiful, but the largest of the buildings were dark and silent, illuminated only by the lights of the streets below.
And much of the outlay is not going into the traditional campaign drain of ad spending. It is going into training, reaching voters, field offices, all that sort of stuff that tuns the party from this vague thing that begs you to vote to something that interacts with communities in every state.

Martin is spending really aggressively. whether that's a good idea, we'll see, but a lot of the coverage is framing this as "lol DNC sucks" from people i'd expect to like aggression
