The actual harsh truth about MAHA is that it is an anti-vaxx, anti-science, pro-diarrhea conspiracy movement. It cloaks its arguments in abstractions about "big pharma" and "free speech" to generate *the exact op-ed The Atlantic keeps publishing*. Movements like this need to be fought, not placated.

I think Israel has behaved abhorrently and committed many war crimes over the past three years. But the sheer… centrality it has taken in many corners of US politics is an alarming trend on its own and opens up a lot of dark possibilities. It is, ultimately, another country, that we do not control.

Even Trump’s critics give him too much credit: they assume that this stuff is part of something grandly presidential, albeit evil. A cunning political ploy. A sinister plan to steal 2028. No! He’s that one unstable person you know who goes on and on about the time they were wronged a decade ago.
