A lot of people who haven’t seen the Odyssey seem to have an entirely different film in their head based on that Emily Wilson review. It isn’t just about Odysseus having ptsd. The film is very much anti-war crimes, and even anti-war. That isn’t Homeric, but you can’t claim it isn’t in the film.

I don’t think Tom emphasises enough how against the grain this and Morrison’s JLA stuff went against the grain in the edgelord 90s. And not in the having-it-both-ways sense of Kingdom Come and Infinite Crisis (or arguably their later Batman/Final Crisis work). It was a huge breath of fresh air

According to Luke Tryl on Radio 4 disillusioned Reform voters think Farage is “just the same as the rest” on the corruption front. But he isn’t is he? He’s exponentially worse. And his grifter tendency has been obvious for a very long time.

Seems a bit pointless having these protracted negotiations in public. Why not just bung Farage a couple of million quid and be done with it?
