... I just realized that Rain World's entire premise is that the planet is environmentally fucked by AI data centers running rampant trying to solve an unsolveable problem, and constantly boiling the oceans time and time again for cooling. This is not an exaggeration. It was released in *2017*.

I often find, in fact, that the rush to disavow ever having Liked the Bad Thing is counterproductive. it's more useful to sit in the messy nuance of having once deeply loved something that you cannot love the same way now. monsters aren't all immediately apparent. we will all get conned by someone
we don’t teach young people short-term history, so it was weird when i realized that gen z had no idea that so many gen x and millennials spent our high school years protesting george w bush and not just because of the wars, but because mosques were being targeted and sikh men were being attacked
