Should be pinned to the top of every single intercommunity argument about tactics. In particular: the people doing the kind of direct action work that other people like to fantasise about online are ABSOLUTELY not talking about it online, are you high? Doing the work > masturbatory discourse

One final take: The people doing the hard yards of effective work, whether grassroots activism, legal work or lobbying, do not talk much on here about it. Because it’s difficult, exhausting interpretations are too bad faith, and the other side can see your posts. Bluesky is not the real world.

This weekend is Sequential Scotland, the biggest and best indie comics event in Scotland! There's panels, workshops, art & cosplay competitions, and over 100 exhibitors. Quindrie won't be there because Eve is one of the co-organisers but lots of our creators will be! 🍂 sequentialscotland.co.uk

anecdotally, everyone I know who has managed to get an ADHD diagnosis - all of whom have had to scrape the money together to go privately because the waiting list is 18 years or some shit - have found the diagnosis and the meds generally life-changing. huge improvements in quality of life

can't stress enough this assault on neurodivergent people is fucking grim because of how difficult it is to get any kind of support if you're an adult. and that's not even including the hoops you have to jump through and frankly how western-centric it all is.

I don't want to shoot videos I don't want to post tutorials I don't want to show my process I don't want to pour varnish I don't want to turn my canvas I don't want to record my screen I don't want to cultivate parasocial relationships I just want to make pictures and shitpost

The way profit maxxing corpo culture has invaded every form of art through algorithms pushing people into daily posting is really weighing on me lately. Efficiency and regularity of making "content" being prized above all else feels so grim, man.

Painting created by Muriel Lewis c.1968 in the art therapy studio at Netherne hospital where she was compelled to live. Part of a large body of work, this is one of several paintings which depict embracing couples, often suggesting furtive trysts where unease underlies the apparent romanticism

Painting in an illustrate style of a white heterosexual couple embracing in front of a stone bridge in the moonlight surrounded by leafy trees with golden light reflected on the water.
The couple is in the far left middle ground and a fair haired man in pale yellow short sleeved shirt and tan slacks embraces a brown haired woman wearing a short grey dress and matching shoes from behind, something awkward in their posture

Concerns over fake phenomena cannot be held in good faith. There's no such thing as "good faith" concern over razorblades in Halloween apples or vaccines causing autism. If you still have 'concerns' about these issues you are uninformed, a bigot or being manipulated. No other option.

for the tribune, I wrote about the uk aids quilt display in my hometown of wakefield, examining its status as a great work of populist art (communal, genuinely anti-establishment) in the wake of the city’s newly elected populist-right reform council tribunemag.co.uk/2026/07/monu...

Monuments of the People

An exhibition of the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt in Reform’s heartland captures the contrast between artistic and electoral populism.
