It’s nearly Sequential Scotland time! As I’ll be travelling with a tiny suitcase from stinky England and it’s a comics-focussed event, I won’t be bringing my full range. But I’m happy to take requests if you want to see anything in person! Browse everything here: www.emseeitch.com/shop

If you can’t think of anything nice to say, I believe there’s a vacancy at The Spectator.
Should be pinned to the top of every single intercommunity argument about tactics. In particular: the people doing the kind of direct action work that other people like to fantasise about online are ABSOLUTELY not talking about it online, are you high? Doing the work > masturbatory discourse
One final take: The people doing the hard yards of effective work, whether grassroots activism, legal work or lobbying, do not talk much on here about it. Because it’s difficult, exhausting interpretations are too bad faith, and the other side can see your posts. Bluesky is not the real world.
If you'd like to show your support for my work and get a beautifully riso-printed physical copy of the comic, you can get that here: tomhumberstone.com/shop/just-work
This weekend is Sequential Scotland, the biggest and best indie comics event in Scotland! There's panels, workshops, art & cosplay competitions, and over 100 exhibitors. Quindrie won't be there because Eve is one of the co-organisers but lots of our creators will be! 🍂 sequentialscotland.co.uk
Terrible morning to wake up to the news that the data centre plan was approved and will be built on the cultural and historial Truman Brewery in Bricklane in East London 😭😫 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Controversial Brick Lane data centre and office plans approved
The proposals include a data centre, offices and 44 homes of which six would be available for social rent.

You'll likely know @tomhumberstone.com from various things (his comic on the Luddites went large), but he's got a new one on the Gig Economy, couriers, the history of all that, specifics of exploitations and the fight against that. Read it, and spread it around. Strong. tomhumberstone.com/just-work

anecdotally, everyone I know who has managed to get an ADHD diagnosis - all of whom have had to scrape the money together to go privately because the waiting list is 18 years or some shit - have found the diagnosis and the meds generally life-changing. huge improvements in quality of life
can't stress enough this assault on neurodivergent people is fucking grim because of how difficult it is to get any kind of support if you're an adult. and that's not even including the hoops you have to jump through and frankly how western-centric it all is.
I don't want to shoot videos I don't want to post tutorials I don't want to show my process I don't want to pour varnish I don't want to turn my canvas I don't want to record my screen I don't want to cultivate parasocial relationships I just want to make pictures and shitpost
The way profit maxxing corpo culture has invaded every form of art through algorithms pushing people into daily posting is really weighing on me lately. Efficiency and regularity of making "content" being prized above all else feels so grim, man.
Painting created by Muriel Lewis c.1968 in the art therapy studio at Netherne hospital where she was compelled to live. Part of a large body of work, this is one of several paintings which depict embracing couples, often suggesting furtive trysts where unease underlies the apparent romanticism
“A team of creatives have teamed up with a typography company to create a new type of font that’ll trick LLM scrapers into ingesting poisoned gibberish.” people are wonderful!
I don't know if it's the HRT or my mom's vampire genes but I often don't feel like I look 42 years old at all, until moments like this (finding one long white hair growing on my ear)

ON THE SHELF: VIRGINIA WOOLF'S ORLANDO Woolfe's classic story of an Elizabethan nobleman who lives into the present, becoming a woman along the way. A tale of identity, love and truth brilliantly illustrated by Jules Schele this is a fabulous new look at a masterpiece of 20th century literature.
UNION UPDATE: tl;dr Dark Horse leadership is attempting to reduce union membership by claiming supervisory status for Senior Editors, who have never been allowed management roles. 🧵
Concerns over fake phenomena cannot be held in good faith. There's no such thing as "good faith" concern over razorblades in Halloween apples or vaccines causing autism. If you still have 'concerns' about these issues you are uninformed, a bigot or being manipulated. No other option.
Tell your friends and family, the sequel to The Hard Switch has a name! THE ARC FALL It's coming out with @averyhill.bsky.social and it even has its own kickstarter pre-launch page right here >>> www.kickstarter.com/projects/ave...

for the tribune, I wrote about the uk aids quilt display in my hometown of wakefield, examining its status as a great work of populist art (communal, genuinely anti-establishment) in the wake of the city’s newly elected populist-right reform council tribunemag.co.uk/2026/07/monu...
Monuments of the People
An exhibition of the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt in Reform’s heartland captures the contrast between artistic and electoral populism.
