Unemployment at its highest level for 11 years, did I see? And THAT INCLUDES THE COVID AND LOCKDOWN TIMES. Thanks to the Ardern government that protected jobs and businesses at the time.

Nonsense. RBNZ estimated in May that the oil price shock would lead to higher unemployment for longer (yellow line) but today's data was worse than expected (again!) The trouble is the reckonomists believe their own recovery hype.

RNZ framing this as a wily Peters evading comments, rather than as a coward who refused to answer questions and abused the rules of the house to do so is just par for the course in the current media environment, sadly

#nzpol Good to read that Chris Hipkins is getting more stuck in. Hipkins is challenging Luxon's lies on the parliamentary record. Luxon did not answer the questions properly and Gerry Brownlee protected Luxon when he should have been disciplining him. #HypocrisyExposed www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

“There is at least one important section of society where little shittery is rampant, destructive and harmful to the environment of the workplace. It’s actively impeding the ability of well-behaved people to perform well & limiting productivity. I’m talking, of course, about parliament.” No notes🙌

How about a journalist asks Erica Stanford to explain what the “legal reasons” are why she “can’t” share a copy of her Social Media Ban (Forced Online Identification for All) Bill? In a sensible country this bill would’ve been preceded by consultation on a draft bill. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

National wants to show Labour the social media ban bill, but 'we can't', education minister says

The education minister says she hopes to get a copy of the social media ban bill to Labour's caucus this week, after previously saying legal reasons were preventing her from doing so.

#nzpol In light of the -10⁰C predicted for tomorrow, can the Aotearoa NZ Govt press pool ask the PM and his many ministers what is being done for the thousands of homeless around the motū who are now forced to sleep rough, in bushejs, under bridges, or in garages, or in their cars. #MontageTime
