saw a post about Rare Jewish Language classes and thought What the heck are they, so googled, and wow. I'm kind of astounded these languages are being taught -- and I'm also delighted, relieved, pleased, grateful. keep 'em alive!

in 2016 Elon Musk said he would build a fully automated factory in Fremont, California for the upcoming Model 3 and he then spent on the order of $2 billion on production lines that didn't work, forcing Tesla to assemble cars by hand in a tent but sure, now he's gonna do it on the moon

so we're talking about covid. did governments do enough? too little? too much? I wish I could remember who it was, but in the earliest days, an epidemiologist or public health professional said, "If we do this right, it will look like we overreacted."

when I was 16 and was studying abroad in Austria, I got really really sick with bronchitis and my host mother took me to one of the other host parents who was a doctor. and I kept trying to give her my insurance cards and credit cards and I will never forget the way she looked at me, man
