“Hey don’t worry about creeps secretly filming you with our AI glasses, we’ll have an indicator light for the limited times they’re on” “Okay actually the glasses will be cameras on recording all the time”

The AI industry’s marketing has infuriated me since day one. “Everyone will have an AI assistant.” “Money won’t exist anymore.” “You’ll all have more free time!” It’s ludicrous and fantastical. They don’t believe it. I don’t believe it. I don’t think most people believe it. What are we doing here?

tech ceos love to talk like it's impossible to know what the computer will do at any given time as if that's smart and powerful and amazing. the determinism was like, the best part of the computer though. removing the determinism is the opposite of smart. it's stupid

trying to moralize consuming harry potter stopped being effective as soon as Rowling's transphobia became general knowledge, the only effective strategy is relentless bullying

When I told Anthropic interlocutors that I avoid contact w LLMs, their response was bemused:perhaps I hadn’t spent enough time w them? there was light in their eyes when they talked about Claude. It dawned on me that they're under enchantment. Like Pygmalion, they had fallen in love w their creation

Just saw a thing where a director talked about taking out sex/nudity because audiences don’t want to see it. Here’s an idea: fuck the audience. I’m the chef & they’ll eat what I serve them and like it. *The audience* knows what they want? Why don’t you let a toddler drive a car next?

This is the exact same behavior I saw with cheaters on steam. They couldn’t believe everyone else wasn’t cheating. They were sure everyone else was cheating but just hadn’t been caught. It’s cool to see this mental defect move from 15 year old boys to powering our economy….

My answer is LOL ROFL (dickbrain) The terminally AI-pilled can't even *imagine* some people have *never* asked stochastic parrots to cheat at their job for them.

All the people who are anti-Al or want to
slow Al progress, I have one question:
If Al disappeared tomorrow, could you
still get through an entire workday
without ChatGPT, Claude, or any other
 Al tool?

Imagine Al was suddenly banned.
Would you actually be willing to give it
 up?

GetUp do a lot of good work in Australia, but this one is personally important to me: keeping Palantir the fuck out of Australian businesses! The vampires need to be invited into the house, and it's critically important that we not do that. give.getup.org.au/page/FUNJDMW...

Coles: Ditch Palantir

Coles has sent us a legal letter over billboards we ran outside almost 700 stores nationwide, exposing its partnership with Palantir – the surveillance company that builds tools for militaries, spy ag...

here's a fun lil exercise for cis people: how many articles would a publication have to print calling for your extermination before you would expect people who care about you to stop giving them money? and how would you feel if their excuse for still supporting them is some fuckass crossword puzzle?

If there is a second pandemic, the US is going to be screwed. There is no plan other than to let it burn through the population while these jokers sell a healthy diet (i.e. all beef) and exercise as the cure. And maybe some unrelated drug that makes you poop yourself raw in a Walmart.

BASH: How do you prepare for next pandemic? RFK Jr: We did almost everything wrong B: But what about now? K: We need to protect our rights B: ? K: During covid we dismantled our rights B: But I'm asking what *to* do K: You were part of the problem B: You want to sit here and attack me?

Quite telling how every argument for AI data centers is transparent bullshit. It creates no lasting jobs or population movement at all. Literally no reason for any place to allow it unless the community extracts massive perpetual cash payments in return.

Hassett: "Data centers are very good for towns bc they create so many jobs & bring people in with high incomes that can buy houses & stuff like that. So if you take a sleepy town that hasn't seen much in the last 30 years & put a data center there, there are gonna be a bunch of happy residents."
