This is laudable- and every city *should* seriously plan for such possibilities- but there are very few cities with a worse "hits to misses" ratio than Cincinnati...
Harvey J. Miller@mobileharv.bsky.social · 4d agoCincinnati has developed a Climate Migration Readiness Plan to absorb as many as 525,000 newcomers by 2050. It calls for building much denser housing, expanding public transit and decreasing the city’s reliance on fossil fuels.
For context Tianjin is a city of 14 million. We talk about how many generations it'll take to rebuild and fix the harm that road construction and parking caused to US cities. But maybe it's clearer to talk about how long it'll take to elect politicians who aren't carbrains. Then, just do it.

Why is the political response to e-bikes always "ban them" instead of "provide enough infrastructure that they replace cars"? These are unconscionable laws and need to be demonstrated as such

It's pretty wild this basic suggestion, that the burden of safety falls on drivers operating multi-ton vehicles, is often met with derision.
