ICE IS KILLING PEOPLE IN THE SHADOWS. Prisciliano Trejo Ricano begged for a doctor. He became the 50th person to die in ICE custody. Anne Frank wasn’t shot; she died of neglect in a camp. ICE uses the same playbook: murder by medical neglect. ICE DETENTION CENTERS ARE DEATH CAMPS.

It's weird when people bristle at the idea of abolishing billionaires. Are you a billionaire? Is your mum one? Why do you care? It would be good to abolish billionaires. More money for public services, less money for them to buy rape islands.

It certainly helps that nobody on the modern fascist right actually believes in anything. It's all just misanthropy and grifting. They're also massive babies, just look how mad they get when people say the "pronoun" or "happy holidays"

It's funny because when it happened, a lot of people were afraid he was gonna become the modern-day Horst Wessel, but when all was said and done, the only commonality was that they both got really bad songs written about them.

Our car was stolen in front of our house. I called the cops. Waited an hour for a guy to show up, ask if we locked the door, I said yes. When I showed him the spot, he found the destroyed lock cylinder from the door. He marked in the report we left the door unlocked. They can't even do that right.

It’s so funny when people are like “sure you’re an abolitionist now but wait until you’re the victim of a property crime.” Buddy, the most useful thing the police have ever done for property crime is put the form you need to submit to your insurance online.

I was trying to help a guy I found on the side of the road as a youth at like 3am, idk if he was drunk or OD or murdered and the cops shook him like a rag doll and went through his pockets instead of checking his vitals or doing any CPR. I been ACAB a long time.

“In reporting from 2023 that was resurfaced this wk, Prison Legal News revealed Taylor Farms w/contracting labor f/Arizona DOC for the low price of $4.75/hr— far ⬇️ the cost of a non-incarcerated wrkr. And to be clear, that’s not the hourly wage paid to the inmate, which is capped at $1.50 in AZ.”

I won't be buying Taylor Farms anymore. "It turns out that Taylor Farms, the agricultural company widely believed to be behind the cyclospora outbreak currently raging throughout the US, is also heavily involved in modern-day forced labor." futurism.com/science-ener...

Nuclear power is certainly interesting but realistically it's time has passed. Solar & lithium are so cheap now base load is not relevant anymore. In an ideal world the best answer'd be intercontinental high voltage DC power lines. Suns always shining somewhere. But that'll never happen politically

breadedhamster.bsky.social@breadedhamster.bsky.social · 7d ago

I recognize the benefits of nuclear energy and realize that a lot of the negatives about it are overblown, but I just don't think it's possible to do safely under our current capitalist overlords given how they just don't give a fuck about the poisons already in the environment.

Math nerds I'm curious about something. Why is it that when you add up the digits of any integer, if that sum is divisible by 3 the original number is divisible by 3? For example 74532 —> 7+4+5+3+2=21 which is divisible by 3 so 74532 is too. I've done this for years but never seen a proof of why

I don't think people understand how thin the line between "deportation" and "extermination" really is - not just in Europe, but everywhere the topic comes up. Many people feel comfortable with the idea of deportation because it obscures the underlying violence that is necessarily implied.

And to spell it out: when DHH says "deport Romani people", those are people who are citizens of the country they live in. Where would they be deported to? When the Nazis ran into this same question, they created extermination camps. bsky.app/profile/anil...

It's wild that ppl don't know this when the US has invaded places for: -bananas -white supremacy -rubber trees -a massive desert (decades before oil mattered) -white supremacy -calcified bird shit -to support another empire (France, Britain, etc) -and anytime a socialist is elected in Latin America

Laura@tutusntinyhats.bsky.social · last wk.

Some climate people claim that if we switched from oil/gas to renewable energy, the US would stop invading other countries for oil. But the problem is imperialism, no matter what type of energy is involved. The US would just as happily invade other countries for lithium and other components

I still can't believe that it isn't more widely known that the rancorous split between the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks that significantly defined the Russian Revolution started over whether to expel a domestic abuser. Organizing has literally always been like this! This isn't something new!

Without History@withouthistoryband.bsky.social · last wk.

NGL, if you look at any popular movement or org that was doing well in the last 30 years or so that suddenly collapsed there was probably a rapist protecting themselves by bringing everything else down in the middle of it. Abuse is *the* central organising issue.
