she/they, queer, ADHD. Older but that doesn't stop me being a fandom nerd. Tired. Listens to Charli XCX and NIN & thinks about Tony Stark. FINALLY reading 616 comics. Writes Steve/Tony and makes mood boards.

Eye popping. Court just unsealed Summary Judgment motions in New York Times v OpenAI / Microsoft. Easy to see why the AI companies had so many redactions (pink). Their own people wrote the lede for NYT, the "largest theft of labor in human history"... "more and more substitutive..." /1

So Think, Write, Edit, Romance has a lot about prose and a whole section on self-editing. In a moment of wild surmise, I asked the literal Final Boss copyeditor if he'd take a look at it. (When I said I was taking a punt on blurbs...) And he did, and this is some of what @bcdreyer.social said.

Flyer for Think Write Edit Romance. Quote: “...she offers up here the sort of expert advice on the nuts and bolts of prose, from punctuation to grammar, that makes my copyeditorial heart sing. And if that weren't enough, she does it all engagingly and wittily. I can't imagine a writer, of romance or of anything else, who won't find much that's invaluable in these pages.” --—Benjamin Dreyer, New York Times bestselling author of Dreyer's English and former Random House copy chief. Reform is the richest party in Britain. Its leaders are almost all millionaires. It is funded almost exclusively by billionaires. It has a supportive TV station and widespread media backing. So naturally, this donation comes with the usual attack on "elites". www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

lot of ridicule of the 6% on my timeline, considering that 70% of Britain's land is owned by 1% of the population and a *lot* of that 1% are directly descended from Norman aristos. (Whether that could have been avoided if the Normans had lost is another matter.)

(I just think that if more dudes had been in the parts of fandom where people were reporting embodied, hallucinatory interactions with characters as real on the astral plane those dudes would be hyper aware that their feelings that insist AI is sentient are just a personal horniness problem)

Once again, BBC burying the lede because its really about fascism they have contributed to promoting - A housing association (that social housing, or what we used to call council housing but its PFI ALEO now) newly renovated homes, nazis torched it www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The reason that the Harry Potter apologists won't just read better books is because they're not looking for good stories...if they were, they wouldn't have glommed on to Harry Potter. They're looking for the camaraderie and social phenomenon that Harry Potter was in the 2000s.

Before I turn in a book review these days, I ask myself if I have sinned as others have sinned against me. To whit, willfully refused to read a section, awfully misquoted a passage or placed it out of context, hexed upon me unsubstantiated intent or influence, gotten the basics of the plot wrong,
