Trump, Hegseth clashed at Camp David over Iran missile depletion concerns

At a Camp David summit this weekend, President Trump demanded answers from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over extreme munitions shortages.

Notice DOJ doesn't talk about its efforts to obtain state voter files anymore. They are 0-20 in those cases and today is the beginning of the quiet period -- states can no longer do systematic removals of names from the voter rolls. TLDR: We won!🥳

Takes like this are very tempting but IMO go too far. The polling miss last night was historically exactly average for a primary — no evidence polls have gotten worse recently. And remember 2022 had the most accurate House and Senate polls in history! bsky.app/profile/gell...

There’s no actual alternative to polling but I just don’t believe they capture public sentiment in any reliable way anymore

Bluesky is a "liberal bubble" because fascist chuds can't get traction without algorithmic assistance and because people here trained themselves to block "debate me" trybois the instant they roll up

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

My main takeaway was that trying to scientifically define biologically distinct competition categories of “women” and “men” is always going to be a nightmare and deeply harmful because human sex is complicated and people cannot (and should not) be forcibly categorized through sex testing.

Vivek Ramaswamy tells a crowd of young Libertarians in Ohio "The truth of the matter is, people in my generation have already made it. We're gonna be fine." He is then booed off of the stage

And if you're thinking "Dang that is a lot of drama for some dang bloomin' onion appetizers" Yeah! Absolutely! That's agriculture, man. Nobody needs to die for sweet potatoes. And yet here we are.

ME: (sigh) I know I'm complaining. YOU: (sarcastically) Oh, should I call the Whambulance? ME: Oh! Yes, please! YOU: (confused, calls Whambulance) WHAMBULANCE: (speeds toward us, lights flashing, blasting Wham hits) US: (sudden joyful dance party) ME: (shouting) Thank you! I feel much better!

the food safety stuff is another reminder that a large, huge, gigantic part of being a republican is going “lmao why are we spending money to prevent horrifying disasters from happening if they never happen 🤪”

Wilson: I guarantee you there are 10 reporters in D.C. right now who know exactly what Mitch McConnell’s medical status is. They’re not reporting it.  If I’m Beshear, brother, just declare the election. And if they want to prove that Mitch McConnell is alive and well, go do it.

No statement from Mitch McConnell on the sudden passing of his senate colleague? So much for decorum

Suffering in and of itself is not spiritual ... lack in and of itself is not spiritual meagerness in and of itself is not spiritual you don't even get to spirituality until you are resourced to be able to choose

If you want to donate to campaigns outside your area, donate in the general election or to groups that do organizing, turnout, etc. I don't know which Dem candidate in Maine (or Kentucky or Ohio) has the best shot. You know who might? The Democrats from those states!

Post nicht verfügbar.

The Maine Democratic Party better fucking listen to her. This took guts and she did it because she hoped that what she'd already said was enough and then it turned out it wasn't. She realizes the stakes. Don't let her bravery be for nothing. This is salvageable with the right replacement.

“restoring faith that better is possible” is maybe the most important thing in politics right now outside of imposing consequences on the bad people (and imposing consequences would help restore faith) we have seen what cynical, “lol nothing matters” politics leads to and it leads to Donald Trump

My not-so-hot take is that what Mamdani is doing *IS* incrementalism, and the bar is so deeply in hell that a politician just doing *anything* good consistently is a total anomaly for people. And I think for now that is good and fine, because it is restoring people’s faith that better is possible.

A post from @matzollerseitz.bsky.social reads:

“So what I'm getting from this is, incrementalism is bullshit and we should just do the stuff that we say would be good for society”

And the post is quoting a post from @owillis.bsky.social that reads:

“They call him WIN-dani

Mamdani delivers promised rent freeze on 1 million rent-stabilized apartments https://www.politico.com/news/2026/06/25/mamdani-delivers-promised-rent-freeze-00977449”

I know this is not the biggest concern going these days, but it stresses me out that basically every artist/writer/critic is now expected to create their own tiny empire instead of getting paid by any existing entity to perform a job they've worked to get good at!!!!

But the thing that needs to be said ... needs to be said Obama is not the virtue mule of democratic life you don't get to have a coke bender on fascism Then run back to Black folks when the eroticisim of white supremacy simply does not work out
