Why is AC so rare in much of Europe? Well, until recently it simply wasn't hot enough to need it. Here is the average number of days above 30C (86F) for major cities over time:

Autofahrer rast mit 98km/h durch Berlin, tötet Fußgänger, und begeht Fahrerflucht. Urteil gerade: 22 Monate auf Bewährung. Klimaaktivist blockiert wiederholt für 30 min eine Straße um die Gesellschaft für die Klimakrise aufzurütteln. Urteil: 22 Monate Knast ohne Bewährung Ein völliger Wahnsinn!

Normie take, but Game of Thrones *is* a good analogy for climate change - not just because of the humans squabbling amongst themselves as their doom approaches, but also because the final season absolutely sucks.

France is mandating solar panels on every large commercial car park in the country — turning millions of square metres of idle asphalt into one of Europe's most productive clean energy assets. I have been mentioning this for months - they are shooting up on all the supermarket car parks.

Bluesky has been a boon overall, in my opinion. X’s algorithm is emphasizing rage bait and right wing content. The fallacy in David’s argument is positing that the hostile platform should be the arena for that debate. It’s a losing proposition from the start.

It's hard to avoid the conclusion that Bluesky has been a net negative for US politics. They corralled everyone on the left into a little glass fishbowl where they shout at one another & everyone else ignores them. Meanwhile, all the pols & institutions stayed on X & are being dragged farther right.

Did you know that off the coast of Australia's Northern Territory between September and March, at 3pm every day, a thunderstorm forms? That's *every single day*. It’s so eerily predictable that it’s been given a name: HECTOR THE CONVECTOR. I'm not making this up, and I just had to tell someone.

A photo from Wikipedia of the recurring thunderstorm "Hector The Convector", seen on the horizon from a pier against a blue sky.

Hey friends! Which tools are best to export and store a huge trove of bookmarked tweets? I am finally at the point where I am going to delete my X account, it'd be a shame if I lost all that knowledge I've stashed "for later". Tagging fellow #ADHD and #AuDHD folks for reach as well – thanks all!

🐴🤡 Lavrov: Moscow really has "close relations" with Tehran, the countries have concluded an agreement on military-technical cooperation, so Russia supplies its Iranian colleagues with "certain types of military products."
