I love Prince of Darkness because it allows John Carpenter to play with the idea of ultimate evil as both physical and biblical at the same time. We are lured toward its various vessels, whether it's the snake in Eden, the swirling liquid in the cylinder, or the unknowable depths behind the mirror.
