FWIW, I've had an NG tube *voluntarily* inserted while full conscious. It took several tries and I was being cooperative. I would say in all honesty that it's the single most unpleasant physical thing I've ever experienced. It is torture, pure and simple. I am so ashamed of my country.

My friend told me her 10 yo daughter is growing out her hair after a teacher at school barred her from entering the girl’s bathroom last year because of her short hair. Can you believe this shit? And the school never apologized for this act of bullying.

Burmese deportees in 2025 were immediately sent to a torture facility next to the airport, according to Myanmar Now. Weeks later, not all of them had emerged.

I loved it. if you've not read anything by her yet this is a great place to start, imo.
