🧵Missouri volunteers are working to raise awareness of SMART Week (Aug 24-28) sharing the critical importance of secure gun storage to prevent gun violence. In Cape Girardeau, volunteers helped get #BeSMART on tonight's city council meeting agenda to receive a proclamation recognizing SMART Week...

“He golfs and trades stocks,” Ossoff said. “See, he doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.”

Let’s get to the polls today and vote, Missouri! The piles of money spent by anti-democracy PACs on advertising are shocking and shameful. Our family voted early to make sure our voices were heard. No on 4, No on 5.

Secretary of State Denny Hoskins forecasts 32% turnout — potentially the highest vote for a primary since 2004 — as nearly $40 million floods Amendments 4 and 5 and outside money reshapes congressional races. #moleg #mogov

The overwhelming right wing sentiment is that COVID was an engineered bioweapon that was also harmless. Trump overreacted to it by shutting down the country, then engineered a drive to create a vaccine that was the real bioweapon that killed millions, and it's Joe Biden's fault.

Doublethink: the state insists you believe the president is brilliant and commandingly in charge AND had no control of, nor responsibility for, the top public health official in his administration, who operated right under the president’s nose at the president’s discretion, victimizing him and you.

Packed house tonight at the NAACP candidate forum—a last opportunity to ask questions in advance of the August 4 election. Many questions submitted by voters toward the end of the forum about public safety, about the juvenile justice system, heath care access, and secure elections.

Great day knocking doors in southwest CoMo with Sharon Jones—our next Columbia City Council Ward 4 councilperson! We had many good conversations with neighbors at their doors about their concerns—from public safety, to strong public schools, to accountability from city government—as the city grows.

At Columbia Library this morning for Rainbow Story Time. Since my kids are now in their 20s, it’s been a minute since I attended story time. It’s magical, sweet, and the kids absolutely love it. And the outpouring of support from our community: off the charts. Everyone is welcome at the library!

Rick Brattin “is defined by his membership in a disruptive faction of Republicans in the Missouri Senate…more interested in garnering headlines than moving the state forward.” Yes, and—how to politely say it?—he is maybe the dumbest of the gun extremists in Jefferson City. #moleg

Six candidates are running in a district redrawn to favor Republicans, but its boundaries could still change after the Aug. 4 primary. #moleg #mogov

Movements are not built on debate stages. They're built in union halls, at kitchen tables, on picket lines, and in conversations with neighbors. They're built by people like you. Together, let's win this damn thing.
