Western Mass. Here for longform journalism, design/decor, & fat studies. I collect old photos of fat people.

I can’t relate to that woman whose husband gave away the work raffle YSL gift basket to a female coworker. Matter of fact, my man won a Jelly Cat of his choice at work a few weeks ago and made a beeline for me to pick my preferred item.

I cannot stop smiling to myself about the woman who got the call from abusive ex asking her to cover for him being the ICE shooter and she went right to the press. I’d like to send her a bouquet.

I took a workshop to make a lampshade and now I can’t stop. The first with the chanterelle fabric will remain with me and the bee one went to a friend for their birthday.

It is quite telling that since the horrific story of Cesar Chavez re: sexual abuse broke earlier this week and calls to change the names of schools and other public spaces named in his honor, not one conservative voice has stepped forward to object that this would be tantamount to erasing history.

The second best Irish phrase I’ve heard, used to describe someone who’s always engaging in one-upmanship, is “if you’ve been to Tenerife, he’s been to Elevenerife.” My number one favourite Irish phrase, and one of the most crushing burns you’ll ever hear, is “he looks like his mammy knitted him.”

I’m going to see The Bride in open defiance of all the negative reviews because turns out my values probably don’t align overmuch with top critics. Hmph!
