Keeping schools open is a goal not a policy. A blanket "never close schools" is a bad lesson. I suggest these: 1. Do not prejudge next pandemic which will be a different virus and could have very different age profile of who it attacks 9/12

The only taxidermied blue whale in the world, 1865 CE, now housed at the Natural History Museum in Sweden. The public was allowed to enter the whale up until a couple was found having sex inside it. Now the whale’s jaws are opened only for special occasions, such as Swedish election days.

It is genuinely bizarre that we’ve become acclimatized to right wingers throwing a tantrum every time a black person (particularly a black woman) is cast in something, but are also supposed to pretend that this is not racism but related to some other substantive concern.

I don't know what anybody is going on about, seeing the ODYSSEY so fascinatingly represented on the big screen was really amazing -- from the Sirens to the suitors to John Goodman as the Cyclops, and I just can't get enough of "I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow." The Coen Brothers never miss, tbh
