This is wild. 93% of the renewable electricity generation added to the Irish grid over that last decade now powers data centers, rather than reducing fossil fuel use. Data centers have pretty much annihilated the health and climate benefits those renewables could have provided.

What is even more striking is that data centre demand has matched 93% of the growth in renewable electricity generation (wind + solar + hydro) over the past decade. If we measure since 2020, data centre demand has grown nearly 3-times faster than renewable electricity growth.

Sure Microsoft may have fired thousands of people and gutted its games division but at least it had more money to pour into Copilot, the 4th most popular AI, a product nobody wants or likes except rich executives, that is constantly losing horrendous amounts of money

Surrealing in the Years: Housing minister's war on targets comes for homeless children

Ah, sure targets only remind us how rubbish it all is anyway.

If you are unlawfully made homeless, and complain about your landlord to the Residential Tenancies Board, they will close your complaint because you can’t give them a permanent address you live at (because you were unlawfully made homeless).

between between different bed and breakfasts, sometimes in different counties, using vouchers provided by her local council.
In March, she filed a case with the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) for alleged unlawful termination of tenancy, which she says is the reason why she is homeless.
But staff at the RTB have repeatedly said they will close her case if she doesn't provide an address.

Microsoft buying these studios that make wonderful prestige titles always felt off because Xbox lacks a sense of identity that lasts longer than 3 fiscal years. This contradiction was made even worse by their unwillingness to respond to the BDS Boycott in even a perfunctory way.
