Spot on. In my 20s, I bought cheap purses. A new one every year, because they fell apart. My husband thought I deserved better. He bought me a cute Gucci bag. It cost 5x what my cheap, sloppy purses cost. 30+ years later, it looks like new. When the strap frayed, Gucci fixed it for free.

Chris Person@papapishu.bsky.social · 4d agoThere's no correct way to defeat a souls boss because the games do not exist in a purely single player environment and encourage build variability. If FromSoftware doesn't want you to do something they tend to patch it out. Also, ultimately, who gives a shit what other people do in their home.
I like this notetaking example. it is a good case of how gender works. Notetaking has never been about producing a transcript. It is a bureaucratic skill in the 20th c. organixarion because it is SENSEMAKING. Those women socialized to take notes? They have been doing men’s metacognition for them
Jennifer Romig @jennifermromig.bsky.social · 4d agoNotetaking in meetings is tiny case in point - used to be some predictable social assumptions who would do it; now anyone can offer to do ”notetaking” by turning on the AI listener. Further interesting scenario is human recollection / notes (taken by habit by a person) conflict with AI summary
it is very interesting how like 10 years ago guys would assume anything i coded/wrote that they were impressed by was really coded/written by some boyfriend of mine they made up - and today their code and words are written by their ai girlfriends
