My @letsbikeottawa.bsky.social numbers are down a lot this year (no more daycare commute), but I did two new bike activities this month. 1) I had my first ride as a passenger on a longtail cargo bike! 2) I used the OC Transpo Rack and Roll on a live bus for the first time!
Okay everyone's comparing notes on Bike Month. My goal was 507 (1 km more than last year). Pretty proud of myself. 525km! 🎉 I missed 2 days, and my longest ride was 32km. So this is really just normal, everyday traveling. #BikeIsBest @letsbikeottawa.bsky.social

So far so good on my E-Bike Commuter Challenge. If I’d driven my car home from City Hall this evening, it would’ve taken me 40 minutes. In the days before the scourge of traffic congestion took over Ottawa, that was a 20 minute drive. 1/

Today is the first day of Let’s Bike Month and I started the day at the Flora Footbridge with @envirocentre.bsky.social and the @ncc-ccn.gc.ca. You can log your rides this month and win prizes at letsbike.ca.
I had so much fun with @envirocentre.bsky.social and a group of Centretown residents, exploring city cycling infrastructure and discussing the gaps that still need to be fixed. Still lots to do, but great to be reminded of how far we have come in the quest to become a great cycling city.
Commuting by bike June 1st? Pedal this way 🚲 We'll be at 4 morning pop-ups across town (7:30–9:30am) with a special prize draw, mini tune-ups, free swag, and pompoms to cheer fellow riders on. Let's Bike Month is right around the corner. See you on Monday!
