We're not sure what's going here. Our original post was about a NJ cop catching 74 speeding drivers in 6 hours and noting that in-person enforcement is not as sustainable as other tools. We have also supported laws that target the worst drivers, like the Stop Super Speeders Act.

One great tip I got from my Tern bike dealer when I got my Vektron was to use the walk assist feature to stand the bike up on its rear end. Just activate the walk assist, but don't walk with the bike. Stand still, hold onto handlebars and the bike will rise up to standing position.

Can we stop saying that raising taxes for bike lanes and transit is going to tax the middle class to oblivion? The average cost of owning a car in 2026 is $16.5k. It's an exorbitant amount compared to property taxes. Car dependency is bankrupting the middle class.

Damn cyclists, not stopping at stop signs.

Bus lanes are not safe cycling infra, because buses have to pull in front of those cycling. Dangerous & stressful even when everyone is careful & follows the rules. Protected cycleways with floating bus stops make this kind of near miss impossible. (Video from Old Street—thankfully not in Newham!)

I love how city Hall can be so sleazy and justify it on the flimsiest of arguments. Here, essentially a bail agreement was reached, and therefore no harm no foul, and by extension full vindication that nothing was ever done wrong, and the lobbyist and Mayor are paragons of integrity 😂

Getting close passed by multiple drivers, anxious to get to the next red light really highlights all the thoughts I’ve had lately about the “Dutch reach.” In Halifax’s car culture, asking drivers to think carefully about other road users is never going to be a solution.
