Notice how even after Canada scrapped the Digital Services Tax, Facebook is still preventing us from posting "news". Makes you wonder if it was really about the tax in the first place. 🤔

Guess what? 1) You can 3D print a crow and squirrel feeder that looks like a Flock camera 2) Crows are extremely good at pattern recognition 3) People are fucking hilarious and creative and I hope every Flock camera gets its own personal murder (of crows) www.printables.com/model/180491...

UPDATE: Trump has declared the whole of "Lake America" a US "asset." Moreover, diplomatic channels on trade between the US and Canada are—the White House has now declared—closed. But yes, social media, keep telling us that none of this matters or will have any downstream effects.

The way Canadians feel about Trump and the US right now, is the way First Nations people feel about pipelines. Especially when they're forced through our land without consent. And the amount you want to fight back is what you're up against with the latest Alberta pipeline proposals. FYI.

Succinct trip through NAFTA/CUSMA, why we should repeal C – 11, how we could save ourselves from US-favouring Canadian laws, and save our digital sovereignty, plus some Americans in the process. Aside from the idea that anyone drinks Gretzky's MAGA rye for political (or other) reasons, this is ace.

As Canada is learning (the hard way), the "art" of all of Trump's deals can be summed up in a single word: "renege": pluralistic.net/2026/07/22/t... 1/

A Canadian flag, its elements replaced with circuit boards. In the foreground, a bent-double, exhausted Uncle Sam trudges over rocky terrain, shlepping a giant sack on his back. Centered in the maple leaf is the word SORRY.

I want to expand on this in a short thread. Fascism sucks. It is also not going away: it is an effectively permanent part of modern representative politics because it is an effectively permanent part of human nature. We have to be prepared to push back against it, basically forever.

That said, I think at this point, we can conclude that fascism is a latent political force in basically every country, to a greater or lesser degree and so you need to be thinking, "what if my country goes fascist? what if a neighboring country does?" and plan for how to avoid or deal with that.

Putin: “Ukraine has never had its own authentic statehood. There has never been a sustainable statehood in Ukraine.” Putin puppet Trump: “Canada wants the benefits of being a State, without being one!!!” Add in a passive and ignorant population and this is how wars start.

Ban Fox News propaganda from Canada, just like the CRTC did with RT Russia: "The CRTC noted worries over foreign programming that attempts to undermine democratic institutions and challenge the sovereignty of other nations" Sound familiar? #cdnpoli

I wish the petition mentioned that Hoekstra was one of the main purveyors of the "Iraq has WMDs" lie, and that Trump appointed him Ambassador while he was trying to push the "fentanyl pouring in from Canadia" lie, but you can just know that Hoekstra was appointed to us for a reason, and sign this.
