The goal of this "review" was always to relieve the terrible insecurity some military folks have around civilian academics and turn the academies and service colleges back into what they were some 35 years ago: Retirement homes for passed-over officers.

Thursday, July 30. Just a horrible day in ICE flights. At least 79 flights on 29 planes. At least 21 removal flights, of which at least 4 were likely third-country removals. ICE flights hit every continent except Australia and Antarctica in one day.

The initial attack convinced Iranian leadership that they were dealing with immediate, personal existential threats. If they’re going to survive, they need to be able to close Hormuz to decisively deter future attacks. More bombing just further convinces them that they need that deterrent.
