"Adaptation needs to grow up. To mature it cannot remain a technocratic exercise in flood defences and heatwave plans. It has to become a project of national (and local and international) resilience." We need to build resilience or we will be shaped by crisis. www.resilience.org/stories/2026...
Escalating climate and geopolitical shocks force a choice: build resilience or be shaped by crisis
Britain is in the grip of its worst-ever, record-shattering midsummer heatwave — even before the impacts of a predicted super El Niño of “Godzilla” strength are fully felt. In this stark context,...

#LongCovid is not a ‘subject’ to dispute. It’s a health condition that changes people’s lives. Definitions can evolve & that’s not an excuse to dismiss the illness itself. Diagnostic criteria for diabetes have repeatedly changed over time but no one takes u seriously if you say diabetes in disputed!
Long covid is a disputed subject, at best.
Remember: nuclear power IS intermittent. Probably, as climate breakdown deepens, worse so than wind - and solar. Pass it on…
"For days, officials across France have scrambled to cope with the searing heat, shutting down three nuclear reactors after the surrounding cooling waters became too hot..." So much for nuclear as a climate solution.....

RFKJr claims Lyme disease was created by scientists, which is the closest he’s come to admitting that science exists. Meanwhile, Ötzi the Iceman, who died more than 5.3K years ago, had Lyme disease. Apparently prehistoric humans are part of the conspiracy. Get me off this timeline

Leaders of flag-raising group Raise the Colours Oxfordshire placed trackers on highway workers’ cars to find out their home addresses, the High Court has heard. RTC then attempted to intimidate the highway staff into no longer removing flags by repeating their addresses to them.
Unless we ban the use of fossil fuels for energy generation and surface transport, no company will ever leave this stuff in the ground. Why would they when they're making money hand over fist?

Replies and quote tweets of this are informative about a certain range of attitudes indicating some people are very angry that women in Edinburgh have a single sex service set up in addition to the ERCC service which did not guarantee such services for users.
It was preposterous that amnesty characterised a trauma informed service to support women who have been subject to sexual and domestic violence as anti rights. There was an impact on service users and this shows an impact on staff. No wonder those involved were and remain so angry

BP's quarterly profits more than doubled to £4.2 billion in the three months to the end of June. These are the profits of war and climate chaos. It's time to make the biggest polluters pay.

I really need everyone to remember that the fossil fuel industry knew-knows exactly the climate hell we now inhabit, and are determined to make it FAR worse. That's because they have decided our lives are worth far less than their profits. We are not angry -or organised- enough.
The penny drops. Climate change will break our economies. Fragment our societies. Undermine our governance. And erode our security. "Ecosystem services" are our life support processes. Destroying them destroys the foundations of human civilisation.

It would be easy to call this the “new normal“ but that’s incorrect. In actual fact, “normal” is going to keep getting worse and worse and worse. Just how bad it will get depends entirely on how fast & far we go on real, legitimate (not performative) #ClimateAction. We know how. It’s about will.
Bordeaux, France, has now recorded more days above 40°C in 2026 alone than during the entire 105-year period from 1920 (when observations began) to 2025. This is deeply shocking.
