Media headline and subhead choices are a hobbyhorse of mine because I suspect that's all lots of people read. If all it says is "DeSantis removed," readers might think the guy who gave the pervert a plum public job is some kind of crime fighter. Nope, DeSantis appointed the perv, who was his ally!

unfortunately my order of the special edition of The Wicked and the Warped got switched with someone’s Necromunda box. GW can’t replace it because they’re out of copies. This is a long shot, but if there’s someone out there who’s missing their Necromunda box and got my book instead, let me know 😔

What drives me nuts about so much ed. admin. attitudes re: AI is that they don't seem to recognize that whatever value it might have as a tool now or in the future, it is in direct opposition to the core idea of learning basic skills. And without those, it is worse than useless — it is dangerous.

In case you are an academic who is currently being gaslit into believing that you're a caveman who wants their students to be jobless if you resist allowing AI in your classrooms... I present to you Berkeley Law's response, which can be summarized as "Fuck off directly into the sun."

I've never seen such an effort to censor a document as I have the Amnesty International report on gender critical groups because of JK Rowling. They removed the report from the Wayback Machine and now I got a DMCA strike on my Google Drive for having it. It was deleted and removed from my account.

A screenshot of an email viewed in dark mode with the subject line "Google DMCA Violation." The email from Google informs the recipient that they have received a notification under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) that some of their materials allegedly infringe on copyrights. It explains the removal process, mentions that notice details will be posted on Lumen, warns against repeated violations, and lists one affected Google Drive URL at the bottomA nearly identical mobile browser screenshot of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. It shows a search for the same Amnesty International UK resources URL, resulting in the same message: "This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine."A mobile browser screenshot of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. A URL for an Amnesty International UK resources page is entered in the search bar, but the page displays the message: "This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine."

This shit is why you can't separate continuing to financially support the Harry Potter IP (whether by buying the games, merch, watching the new TV show when its out) from the consequences of what JK Rowling does with that money She's become so stiflingly powerful that even private docs arent safe

Jamiroquai’s “Virtual Insanity” turns 30 today. The lyrics were prescient, said frontman Jason Kay: 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘔𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘝𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘕𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘚𝘦𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘉𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘵𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 “But I’ll never get the credit for it,” he added.

Natalie Harp is one of the most powerful people alive. I'm not joking or exaggerating. Controlling what information the US president gets and publicly communicating on behalf of the president give someone significant influence over policy of the world's most powerful country, all the way up to war.

think about how often this admin announces policy by social media post and then consider that trump may not even be the one posting it

everyone is missing the boat on this harp thing fwiw. it's not an affair and she is not a nurse. it's way worse: she's elder abusing him. tale as old as time a psychotic weirdo striver has attached herself to an elderly dotard and is wormtonguing him. our american rasputin

In Jersey City asthma rates can be tracked based on neighborhood proximity to a highway, and yet transportation, health, environmental departments, and even environmental groups do not prioritize fighting highway expansions and transportation policies to address air quality. tinyurl.com/7xc2z37y

This stopped me in my tracks. An independent study by @qmul.bsky.social has found that after ULEZ was introduced, children’s lungs grew faster in Central London and have now caught up with children outside of the capital. Incredible.

Semi-regular reminder that ActBlue is the payment processor and it reports donor info to candidates for legal reasons. (No one wants anonymous donors, right?) It's the candidates, campaigns, committees, PACs and intermediary firms that buy and sell emails and cell phone numbers.
