Put differently: the Conservative Party should not be adopting candidates who pump out this kind of abusive material, whatever their history. That we have seen where this man can take that approach - and that he had to be jailed for it in the past - makes that especially important.

I was open-minded on this at first. I do believe in repentance, I think people can change, & I could see the logic of giving someone who was trying to do better a chance in local govt. But the evidence suggest that the abusive, persecutory mode of politics hasn't changed. He's just switched targets

I'll be honest: I'd buy this a lot more if his main outlet wasn't abusively attacking opposition politicians via AI slop in ways which obviously nod to other forms of prejudice.

Whilst I do believe in redemption, and it is possible that this person has done the work etc, it is pretty funny that "acknowledging the reality of climate change and the necessity for action" is an unforgiveable crime whilst "being a Neo-Nazi and criminal antisemite" is something one can fix.

If anyone is wondering, I don't use generative AI. It offers me nothing useful creatively and nothing trustworthy as research. The environmental impact is appalling and the companies who developed it stole copyright intellectual property knowing that is illegal. GenAI is dishonest at every level.

My answer is LOL ROFL (dickbrain) The terminally AI-pilled can't even *imagine* some people have *never* asked stochastic parrots to cheat at their job for them.

Had this a lot recently. People explaining things to me that I didn't mention in a 300 character post that was only tangentially related, and that the briefest glimpse of my bio would suggest I'm fully aware of I'd never have a go at anyone for that, but it's not *not* annoying

In 1999 my girlfriend gave me a self-help book called Stop Procrastinating. In 2024 I finally got around to reading it. The book didn't work - I've even procrastinated for 2 years posting this fess.

My main takeaway was that trying to scientifically define biologically distinct competition categories of “women” and “men” is always going to be a nightmare and deeply harmful because human sex is complicated and people cannot (and should not) be forcibly categorized through sex testing.

In light of the “good faith questions” discourse I just wanted to re-up @reveleth.com’s fascinating podcast about the complex (and frequently appalling) history and present of policing sexual biology in women’s sports.

I tend to be the group organiser for things, but I don't do this. I wouldn't want to secure an advantage I had not previously discussed with my friends. I would rather pass on any advantage equally than benefit personally. I think it is an interesting ethical situation. I am after all doing "work"

I'm the organiser for lads' trips (like World Cup). I book the tours/activities for us, they pay me back their full share. I book with a Cashback site to also get 10% back. Fair commission for doing the legwork I reckon.
