UPDATE: Yes, their owner passed away Thursday. We're taking them in today, but as I said, that CAN'T be permanent; they NEED a HOME NOW. We're willing to drive pretty much anywhere in the Northeast for the right adopter. We're begging.

Morning people: yep, looks like the ONE nibble is now ghosting. Going to Kevin's apartment today to start cleanout & get the cats, then we're bringing them here. They HAVE to stay closed in our bedroom, so they're safe for now, but one room is NO way to live the rest of their life. Please. SOMEONE.

I’ve talked about this before and they wouldn’t be much better if they were accurate but this kind of automated computer vision system is pretty much doomed to high rates of false positives if you want it to do anything at all

very tired of pretending that dismissing modern economics is somehow more reasonable than dismissing vaccines. if you’re not an expert, you don’t get to pick and choose parts of a field to believe! you have no way to tell between legitimate and illegitimate results in that field!

This is less about being anti data analysis and more about the way that the flippant attitudes of the people who deliver their analyses can be broadly alienating to people with qualitative experiences that don't match their findings. Their desire is to scold and feel superior, not to educate.
