My column on how capital becomes a death cult. Faced with a choice between profit and human life, the radical right chooses profit. Then it tries to persuade us that mass death is what we want. It's the new phase of climate denial: accept your fate, earthlings. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Murderous heat, an endangered food supply, decimated landscapes: embrace the Mediterranean life | George Monbiot

As climate disaster stares us in the face, the radical right says ‘Embrace the Mediterranean life’. Embrace death, more like it, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

We need a mass manliness surveillance campaign. Challenge anyone who doesn’t stand with his legs wide apart, fully unbutton and unzip his trousers, pull his massive member out with an audible flop, ease out a fart, piss like a horse, waggle his member to the last drop and casually put it all back.

When they said “there will be no toilet police” they were always just saying so we need You 🫵 to be a toilet vigilante and sniff out the gender deviants

Keeping seeing the take: "@emilyrcwilson.bsky.social is smart and all, but she doesn't know *film* and so she doesn't really *get it.*" My bros in Christ, opinions about films are ALWAYS informed by life experiences. There is no such thing as pure film criticism! Knowing "film" biases you, too!

'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)

An embroidery hoop containing a sewn landscape from above. It shows a forest on the right, a line of fire and charred ground with smoke on the left. The smoke is felted wool.

A lot of people today talking about an awful person who died but i want to make everyone aware of a good person who died: Northern Irish comedian Jimmy Cricket, who you should all look up if you don’t know. 10/10 all around wife guy, dad, granddad, and just a generally solid person

“The narratives we create around trans & non-binary people matter. At a time when negative rhetoric towards our community is increasing & trans & non-binary lives are frequently reduced to political debate, it’s important for trans lives to be understood as real, complex & joyful experiences.” 💕🏳️‍⚧️

Heartstopper's legacy is showing me what trans joy felt like for the first time

It was transformative to see a trans person who could live their life, be supported through their struggles, and have a positive storyline
