Tariff chaos, no country knows what to do. The US isn’t a rule-of-law democracy anymore, so they know Congress isn’t regulating trade and don’t know if the Supreme Court ruling will hold. But it’s not consolidated authoritarianism either, so they don’t know what president can make happen either.

I’ve been stalwart backer of transatlantic alliance all my life. I understand why Europeans have so far trod softly/tried to keep Trump onside. But, there comes a time when you have to face reality. The US is no longer our ally. Its defense guarantee is worthless. Time to kick ass back🧵
