Fuck every service that makes you pay for a standard thing. Will extend to other data types like local election results! ErisData.

It's amazing to see people now just buying cheap hardware off AliExpress and turning it into 10x the value by building better firmware with Opus 5.5. For example, this 60$ synth now has firmware options that add lots of new features or even turn it into a Groovebox.

not my place to criticize people's job decisions. but making inference (especially of large models) more efficient seems one of the biggest ROI projects right now in reducing AI power consumption, which is the main *concrete* worry about data center proliferation
@rocallahan.bsky.social · 3w agoI resigned from Google today. I enjoyed my work and loved the people, but my GDM team was working on a new generation of chips to make AI much faster and cheaper, and I think AI is already progressing too fast, so I had to quit.
