Nerd thing: so there's this tech/math/nerd culture that's hard to describe, but where there's a kind of enlightened playfulness, which if you like you can trace very far back, and which perhaps hits a kind of high watermark with Claude Shannon, routes through late 60s/70s hacker culture, and so on.

The danger in trying to do good is that the mind comes to confuse the intent of goodness with the act of doing things well.

For me, OER has always been about children's rights. That bright revolt for children's rights ignited once I read Korczak's stories at seven, and it's been propelling my everything. All Natural Math books are published under a Creative Commons license.

A child free from the guilt of ownership and the burden of economic competition will grow up with the will to do what needs doing and the capacity for joy in doing it.

Start teaching multivariable calculus in 3rd grade, finish by 12th grade. Lots of making pictures and hands on activities to build intuition/rigor. 18 semesters is plenty of time to work out specifics of calculations and their history. A capstone - Boomerangs - make, throw, calculate, simulate
