For @motherjones.com x @thesicktimes.org, I dove into the challenges that people with Long Covid face when seeking accommodations under Trump 2.0, which has gotten increasingly hostile to disability and to recognizing that Covid is a problem. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Long Covid disabled millions of workers. Then came Trump 2.0.

Companies have become β€œvery comfortable undermining” ADA labor protections, experts say.

The dumb Cheesecake Factory discourse wasn’t about class, it was about pretending that ACTUALLY his joke was mean. Just dipshits shouting β€œmods!!!!” but from The Daily Wire.

When they report their symptoms to GEO or medical staff, they are told simply to β€œgargle with salt water.” This is in no way an effective treatment for TB, especially when their regular drinking water smells and tastes bad, and comes out of the taps in different colors.

In the 1960's people were worried about communists destroying America. Nope. Destroying America is a job for Americans. No one does it better. God bless the USA.

Two neighbors live less than 2,000 feet apart. One pays up to $500/month for electricity. The other averages $130. One has investor-owned National Grid. The other by a municipal utility. @popovichn.bsky.social and I dug into America’s widening power bill divide: www.bloomberg.com/graphics/202...

One Home’s Power Bill Is $500. A Half-Mile Away, It’s 70% Lower

The stark difference reflects a growing national divide between investor-owned utilities and public power providers

Matthew Shepard died on October 12th in 1998, 28 years ago. His ashes were interred at Washington National Cathedral 20 years later, in 2018, because before Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson offered the Cathedral's crypt, his family had no place for him that would be safe from desecration.

I spoke a bit about Matthew Shepard over the weekend in person to some folks, but I didn't want to let the anniversary of his death β€” October 12, 1998 β€” pass by without giving a moment to him and his memory here.

Since so many of you seem to think β€œraises serious questions” is a proportionate and sufficient response, Amy, let me raise some of my own: Which questions, specifically? Who is going to ask them? Who is obligated to answer them? What investigative authority will be used to obtain those answers?

The timing of this raid and reports that a White House official was involved raise serious questions that should concern all Americans, regardless of political party.

Columbus Day celebrates a myth built on Indigenous erasure. Today, the fight to erase us continues in schools, media, and our lands. But we’re still here. Indigenous Peoples’ Day honors our survival, resistance, and sovereignty. My latest for @truthout.org: truthout.org/articles/ind... #indigisky

Indigenous People Are Resisting Erasure From Schools, Media, and Our Land

Joining the fight against our erasure helps Native communities defend our right to be seen, heard, and counted.
