Next generation in parasitology 2026: Connecting young parasitologists across Europe
The second edition of the ParaFrap-funded Next Generation in Parasitology workshop took place in Montpellier, France, from May 18 to 21, 2026. The meeting brought together 16 junior European group leaders working on diverse parasitic organisms, including Cryptosporidium, Leishmania, Plasmodium, Toxoplasma, Trypanosoma brucei, and Trypanosoma cruzi. The workshop combined a day-and-a-half-scientific symposium with a two-day retreat dedicated to early-career challenges. Discussions covered a variety of topics, including management, collaborations, funding opportunities in both academia and industry, as well as grant writing and peer review.
