In case of misunderstanding @spokes.org.uk is nothing to do with that campaign We see pros & cons (including traffic/transport implications) with both options Whichever the council decides we will campaign for 🚲👩🦼🚶 conditions to be as good as possible --> www.spokes.org.uk/2026/06/tram...

#edi.bike #spokes Well, I hope the Save Roseburn Path campaign is pleased with itself as Edinburgh council has caved in and scrapped the tram extension to Granton altogether. Another win for sustainable transport - not.
I too learned touch typing on manual typewriters. In the late 80s while on Uni break at night school in Penwortham. Builds up the little-finger muscles, especially on the left hand.
Anyone else have a touch-typing teacher with such a dark and twisted sense of humour that you were required to type: All work and no play makes Jake a dull boy over and over and over? 😱 Weekend story time: the start of Chpt 4 which is all about programming! 💻⌨️🔭 www.youtube.com/shorts/0GuK8...

Families are feeling the strain on their budgets. They have been promised free childcare when their little ones turn 3 but most councils are not providing it from that point. It's time to end the postcode lottery and help families struggling with the cost of childcare! news.stv.tv/politics/sco...
Scottish Greens call on SNP to guarantee free childcare from third birthday
Gillian Mackay said it would end the burden for families who have to pay nursery fees until the next school term

Great turnout today to support @edinburghgreens.bsky.social candidate Isabella Gastel Alejandre in #Southside #Newington by-election on 3 September #VoteGreen
Glasgow was promised this by the SNP, & they still delay. The SNP promised guidance on inplementing rent controls to Councils, & they delay. We need a Government of action in a cost of living crisis, not delayers.
The SNP promised to expand the £2 bus fare cap in their first 100 days after the election. That deadline just passed. In the Highlands & Islands the cap has already shown what's possible when we prioritise affordable public transport. We can't allow progress to stall now.
It's damning enough for Labour they couldn't beat a party that lost over a quarter of its vote and then flatlined, but to emerge from the election and go "wow, honestly, we were shocked by how many people voted SNP" when it fit the polling? The levels of delusion that campaign was working on!
I didn't know Jason Arday but the news of his death is making me feel physically sick I'm so angry and sad. Our mainstream media needs to do some deep deep reflection about what they have become.
This is the coverage of Arday **just in the Telegraph** in the UK. This is only the first four pages of results, just in one outlet.
Please get the word out to folks here in Portobello / Craigmillar about the byelection! This could be our first Green council here in Edinburgh 💚
Green Party supporters in East Lothian, we need your help! If you have friends or family in Portobello / Craigmillar or Southside / Newington, please ask them to vote for Lorenzo Martinico or Isabella Gastel Alejandre in the by-election on 3rd Sept! Every vote counts! buff.ly/ImWBLWl
Great buzz at @edinburghgreens.bsky.social street stall this afternoon to elect Isabella Gastel Alejandre in #Southside #Newington byelection on 3 September. Cost of living crisis, social housing & rent controls were all raised by residents. Lots of folk confirming they'll #VoteGreen on 3 Sept.
Heartbreaking news tonight. UK media have gone from character assassination to literal assassination. There needs to be a reckoning, the punching down of marginalised people needs to end. You are seen, for help call 116 123 (Samaritans) or 0800 689 5652 (National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK).

EVERY STORY ABOUT BEAVERS FOR THE LAST DECADE READS LIKE: WE RELEASED A DOZEN PADDLE TAILED LITTLE FREAKS AND THEY IMMEDIATELY BEGAN A TERRAFORMING PROJECT THAT REVERSED A CENTURY OF ECOLOGICAL DAMAGE IN THREE WEEKS.
Jason Arday has been found dead. The obsessive media focus on this one man - as if it was one of the biggest scandals in history - was disproportionate beyond belief. Push notifications, top headlines, constant investigations. And now he is dead.
Various teams of @edinburghgreens.bsky.social @scottishgreens.org are out every day knocking doors for the Southside-Newington council by election on 3 September. Same again tonight and so much Green support! #VoteGreen1 #VoteIsabella1
You can't help but wonder if the BBC's politics and news coverage is in a increasingly dire place when they can give days and days over to nonsense and Reforms demands - but don't cover the biggest threat to our national security that we have faced in our lifetimes.
I’m eating a salad because I’m not in the U.S. and I can do that safely. 🤭
In a country where rape has the lowest conviction rates of any crime, and reoffending continues, this is an urgent and important conversation we need to have in Scotland. Any suggestion that my statements minimise or excuse rape or sexual assault are deeply false and misleading.
If we are to truly tackle rape and sexual violence we need to tackle wider issues in society, including the ways boys and men are socialised, the communities or lack thereof they’re in, and how they’re raised.
The vast majority of sexual violence is from men who the victims know personally. Victims should be believed regardless of who the perpetrator was, and rapists should be punished in the strongest terms.
I worked with the Center for Human Rights Studies for years on gender-based violence & victim-centric models of justice, and I was asked about it in the interview. The point I made about demonisation was that not all rapists fit a stereotype, and that all kinds of men can and do commit it.
This clip is clearly misrepresented & taken out of context from a much longer interview. As a survivor of sexual violence, who has spoken openly about my recovery, I am clear that we need to focus on reducing the likelihood of perpetrators of rape reoffending.
The truth remains a perfect response. I’m aware of an excerpt of an old interview of mine with The Subjective Space and Dr Sindhu Rajasekaran circulating online, and commentary about its selective application. To prevent further misinformation, here’s a statement.
Emergency city centre transport crisis, so why not just boot the cars and parking from George Street ?
