#edi.bike #spokes Well, I hope the Save Roseburn Path campaign is pleased with itself as Edinburgh council has caved in and scrapped the tram extension to Granton altogether. Another win for sustainable transport - not.

Families are feeling the strain on their budgets. They have been promised free childcare when their little ones turn 3 but most councils are not providing it from that point. It's time to end the postcode lottery and help families struggling with the cost of childcare! news.stv.tv/politics/sco...

Scottish Greens call on SNP to guarantee free childcare from third birthday

Gillian Mackay said it would end the burden for families who have to pay nursery fees until the next school term

It's damning enough for Labour they couldn't beat a party that lost over a quarter of its vote and then flatlined, but to emerge from the election and go "wow, honestly, we were shocked by how many people voted SNP" when it fit the polling? The levels of delusion that campaign was working on!

Heartbreaking news tonight. UK media have gone from character assassination to literal assassination. There needs to be a reckoning, the punching down of marginalised people needs to end. You are seen, for help call 116 123 (Samaritans) or 0800 689 5652 (National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK).

Jason Arday has been found dead. The obsessive media focus on this one man - as if it was one of the biggest scandals in history - was disproportionate beyond belief. Push notifications, top headlines, constant investigations. And now he is dead.

You can't help but wonder if the BBC's politics and news coverage is in a increasingly dire place when they can give days and days over to nonsense and Reforms demands - but don't cover the biggest threat to our national security that we have faced in our lifetimes.

In a country where rape has the lowest conviction rates of any crime, and reoffending continues, this is an urgent and important conversation we need to have in Scotland. Any suggestion that my statements minimise or excuse rape or sexual assault are deeply false and misleading.

If we are to truly tackle rape and sexual violence we need to tackle wider issues in society, including the ways boys and men are socialised, the communities or lack thereof they’re in, and how they’re raised.

The vast majority of sexual violence is from men who the victims know personally. Victims should be believed regardless of who the perpetrator was, and rapists should be punished in the strongest terms.

I worked with the Center for Human Rights Studies for years on gender-based violence & victim-centric models of justice, and I was asked about it in the interview. The point I made about demonisation was that not all rapists fit a stereotype, and that all kinds of men can and do commit it.

This clip is clearly misrepresented & taken out of context from a much longer interview. As a survivor of sexual violence, who has spoken openly about my recovery, I am clear that we need to focus on reducing the likelihood of perpetrators of rape reoffending.

The truth remains a perfect response. I’m aware of an excerpt of an old interview of mine with The Subjective Space and Dr Sindhu Rajasekaran circulating online, and commentary about its selective application. To prevent further misinformation, here’s a statement.
