Ok, so Madonna who's attained a level of success, wealth, critical acclaim and global adoration from the public and her peers that Roisin Terfy could only dream of has jumped on the 'TQ bandwagon'? 🙄 This same Madonna who in the 1970s was dancing with us in underground queer NY nightclubs... 1/

Once again, I come back to the fact these guys have created a situation where one of the UK's leading, cis female athletes is scared to go to the loo alone, and the fact that they are celebrating this as a step forward for women's rights.
Our code of practice for services, public functions and associations comes into force today. It provides practical guidance on how the Equality Act 2010 applies to services, public functions and associations. Find out more: https://ow.ly/alIf50Zwrkx
Saw this and thought my oomfs' feeds could use this
Tyron has said this better than I could, but if you look across almost every area of the economy and society, life is better today than it was 40 years ago. To take just one example, healthcare, you have: GLP-1s, minimally-invasive robotic surgical procedures, mRNA vaccines, new cancer drugs, PrEP.
an unfathomable amount of stuff has got better over the last 40 years - hell, even over the *last 15* - and anyone convinced it hasn't does not remember or know what things were like 15 or 40 years ago.
The EHRC guidance does not apply to workplaces, and trans people are not criminalised for using any toilet in the UK. But the whole point of this - as with Section 28 back in the 1980s - is to intimidate people. Don't give into that fear.
Just a reminder that: - this isn't for workplaces and if your work is trying to implement it scare them over discrimination claims - the onus is on the service provider, not the service user to comply - the code *itself* says enforcement of toilet facilities is unworkable and low priority
My favourite thing about this type of criticism is that “be kind” insta mums and bluesky leftists are two distinct groups that hate each other.
I was wondering why I’d got 19 clickthroughs from The Daily Telegraph…
lmao our making fun of Rod Liddle dying has upset the British Journalists

What’s amazing about the Telegraph crew is how thin their pretence of believing in ‘free speech’ really is.
They insist we never speak ill of the dead even if the dead made a career out of speaking ill of the living

0.016% of the UK has been on The Chase
EHRC Code of Practice comes into effect today so remember to be an absolute pain in the arse to any service provider who is trying to actively enforce it.
Hmm bluesky now shows which mutuals have liked your/someone’s posts underneath the number of likes said post has. Not sure I like 😶
Many parts of southern England recorded 0mm of rainfall in July, a first since records began in 1871. No sign of meaningful rainfall in the next 2 weeks either as high pressure re-builds, the drought continues. 📷 Blackheath, London
Yes I acknowledge it makes sense in context but “I need my car to meet criminals” is now my favourite basis for an attempted exceptional hardship plea. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
This episode has been solid for a Round 1. Really struggled this week #OnlyConnect
Just seen Loreen’s postponed her tour until next Spring. 😶
Hello I have made this due to a mutual having issues with some folks on here forgetting this fact and shouting at him for it. Feel free to use it as a handy PSA x
Love that an Uber agreed to pick me up at Piccadilly, then entered the car park and decided to cancel and then drive past me 🙃 I’m in another one now though
I’m on a XC train from Reading to Manchester. Thankfully it’s not packed and it has air con which is unusual.
The fact that the monstrous mould madame has gone after Amnesty International - a human rights organisation - tells you everything you need to know about her.
