If you look at atproto.at or atproto.at/relays you see that wsocial only has a PDS - no relay, firehose, etc. All parts of the service are Bluesky infrastructure.

Unsurprisingly, the new @eurosky.social firehose is much faster for @sifa.id to connect to (compared to the standard bsky firehose) and on-par with the @microcosm.blue firehose (as all 3 are on 🇪🇺 Hetzner servers) Well done team, big wins for atproto independence and decentralization this week! 👏👏👏

slingshot now has a CLI flag to use a custom PLC directory/mirror, like plc.eurosky.network (or plc.wtf !) thanks @byjp.me for the PR!

PSA to all lightrail operators: please update to v0.1.1 (latest on main) Fixes a bug where lightrail sends excessive requests to PDSes for `com.atproto.sync.listRepos`.

I switched Sifa's atproto identity resolution over to Slingshot (@bad-example.com's edge cache) and really glad I did! Resolving a handle/DID to its PDS now comes back verified in one cached call. ~100% served in prod, zero misses so far (the old resolver could hang on a 30s timeout 😅)
